Congress Orders Pentagon to Form UFO Rapid Response Teams

Please respect our republishing guidelines – Click Here Close on the heels of the Pentagon establishing the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG), Congress wants a more rapid response on UFO reports. The Associated Press reported that lawmakers included in the FY 2022 National Defense Authorization Act requirements for frequent reports to Congress on the AOIMSG progress. Section 1652 of the House bill and Section 345 of the Senate version carry the language. Apparently, the Senate and House legislators have taken the reins of implementing actionable tasks the Pentagon did not include in its standing up of the AOIMSG. To be fair, the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum did say that the defense staff would provide implementation instructions sometime in the future. Now with congressional encouragement, the Defense Department can do that more expeditiously. legislators mandated the five-sided building leadership form “Teams of Pentagon and intelligence community experts [that] would rapidly respond to military UFO sightings and conduct field investigation under newly unveiled defense legislation set to pass Congress.” Congressional involvement resulted from a bit of a kerfuffle over how the AOIMSG looked to critics.
