In late April, two separate incidents of unidentified objects allegedly falling from the sky were reported in Las Vegas. The first incident involved a family reporting something “not human” in their backyard. A police officer responded and spoke to the family, telling them that another officer had seen something in the sky that matched their description just eight minutes earlier. The officer investigated the property for several days before closing the case. The second incident involved reports of two unknown entities falling from the sky. The officer who responded told the family that he was investigating the claims because another officer had seen something fall out of the sky that matched their description. The department also investigated this incident for several days before closing the case. These incidents come amid a growing number of reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), commonly referred to as UFOs. According to a declassified version of an annual report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence published in January 2022, the US government has received over 510 reports of UFOs between late 2004 and mid-2022.
